Making Greener Choices
The Saltfire ST1 Vision is a wood burning stove which means it can be used for burning wood only. You are not able to burn smokeless coal on this stove. This however is great for the planet as, not only is coal a finite resource that is running out, wood is a cleaner burning fuel that creates less air pollution. As trees can be planted once cut down, wood is a sustainable fuel unlike coal. DEFRA recently announced that Eco-design stoves produce only 0.3% of all the domestic combustion pollution, which is itself only a small portion of all pollution created by Industry, Agriculture, Travel and Power Stations.
How much can a woodburner save you? There have been some studies into this and the answer is quite a lot - read our blog for more information
